The name "Irie" is colloquial/slang in Jamaican for good, allright, cool, with a deeper meaning of feeling of content and at peace with oneself and one's state of being.

Irie is a Tahitiana, a Weston Farmer's reimagining for John G. Hanna's classic Tahiti ketch. Irie was built in 1984, is cutter rigged, rolled steel construction (no chine) and is a 110% upscale of the original plans, incresing her to a 33'.

Hull constructed by Sinclair Melbourne & Co. in Lyttleton, a ship building and engineering company which began in 1927 and dissolved in 2000.
